The End of the Year Book Tag

Recently I was nominated by Ellyn @allonsythornaxx to do the End of the Year Book Tag! I haven’t done a tag in a while and this one seems like perfect timing seeing as there are only a few weeks left of 2018.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

There are several books that I haven’t finished yet. I started American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis in October and only read about 100 pages. I also need to finish Surfacing by Margaret Atwood. But to be honest I probably won’t finish either of them – neither held my interest.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

That took me so long to figure out the question. Where I live, in Australia, it is summer. Although it does not feel much like summer here in Melbourne; there have not been many hot days yet. I don’t really read books based on the weather. It’s almost Christmas so I might read something Christmassy, but I haven’t really seen any Christmas books that have caught my eye.

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

There is a book that came out in June called The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang that I’ve been seeing a lot recently. I don’t know much about it other than it’s a romance book. I’d like to read it at some point because I usually love adult romance books that are really popular.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Considering I only read one book last month, I’m not sure if I can read three books in December but we shall hold out hope! I would like to finish reading Life on the Leash by Victoria Schade and would also like to read My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadoes, and White Teeth by Zadie Smith.

Is there a book you think could shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

I think I could definitely be shocked by My Lady Jane. I’ve had that book on my shelf for a few months and have kept saving it for a special occasion.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2019?

I have a few new releases that I am excited for! These books include Again, But Better by Christine Riccio, 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne, On the Come Up by Angie Thomas and Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell.

What books are you excited about next year?

  1. I’m really excited to read some of my most anticipated fall reads from 2018 next year! I’ve been super busy lately so I haven’t had a chance to get to any, but books like Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak and The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy came out in October and I need to read them soon!!
