A+ on the test: A book or character that makes you smile?

I’ll Give you the Sun by Jandy Nelson makes me smile. The characters are so easy to love!

Sports team: A fictional family that you want to be a part of?

The Cullen’s are a family I have wanted to be a part of since I was 12. I seriously loved Twilight so much that I once bought a t-shirt that said, ‘Forget princess, I want to be a vampire’. And I actually wore it places 😳

Class President: A book that tries to make a difference?

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas certainly tries to make a difference. And it succeeds! It comments on the perceptions that some police officers have on African Americans. This is something that I don’t think is very prevalent in Australia so it was interesting to learn.

High School Sweetheart: A book character you have a crush on?

Um…Voldemort.

Prom Night: A book with a beautiful cover?

Spring Break: A book you can always turn to when you need an escape?

Instead of a book that I turn to, I’ll say a genre because I never reread books. I definitely choose young adult when I need an escape. They are extremely easy to read and usually very entertaining.

School Lunch: A book character(s) you want to have lunch with?

I read the Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging books when I was younger. I made my poor mum buy all ten of them. The main character, Georgia, is so hilarious! I would love to hang out with her.

Halloween Party: A character you would like to be for one day?

I would obviously want to be someone powerful and wealthy. But who is someone that fits that description?

School Bully: A villain you don’t want to go to school with?

Even though I have a crush on him, I wouldn’t want to go to school with Voldemort.

Graduation: A book with a bittersweet conclusion?

I love this question. I think it is not too much of a spoiler to say that Room by Emma Donoghue has a bittersweet conclusion. It is about a young boy who has only ever lived in just one room. His mother was kidnapped many years ago and they are forced to share a very small space together. It is an amazing read.
