I'm participating in NaNoWriMo this month and have realised that I get distracted VERY EASILY! I'm a mixture of a procrastinator and a lazy person, and this does not result in a very high word count. It results in a jumbled mess of words.
NaNoWriMo week 1 is over! I hope all the writers reading this were able to write what they intended on. In this post I'm going to share with you my stats so far for NaNoWriMo and some things I learned after writing non-stop for one week.
In November it is NaNoWriMo! I am going to be participating for the first time and I'm really excited. I'm almost finished university (and graduate in December!) and have most of November to WRITE! Well, I start a new job in the last week, but I still have heaps of time. Luckily my last assignment for uni is due on 31 October, so this is perfect timing!
My last writing update was at the end of June, and since then I have been writing a lot less! But that's okay! I have been more focused on writing short stories, because I wanted to enter some competitions.
It was recently the Melbourne Writers Festival between 25 August and 3 September, and I decided to go along! This was my first time going and I choice three of the events. Even if you didn't go or live in Melbourne, there were many things I learned that could be interesting to you.
Writing book reviews is something that takes effort, but it can also be very rewarding! I was thinking about why I wrote a book review every week and whether I should keep going or limit it, so I devised a list of pros and cons to way up on just how helpful it can be.
Last week I half-arsed participated in the BookTube-A-Thon! I know I just did a reading challenge, but I saw that so many people were participating, and it made me want to join in.
I watched a lot of great film and television in July. For eight days I went on a cruise and watched around five films while on the boat, so a lot of them were watched then. Otherwise, everything else was just viewed in my spare time.
Recently I went on a cruise to New Caledonia from Sydney. My mum and I went with P&O cruises on the Pacific Explorer. New Caledonia is a group of islands in the pacific ocean that is part of the French Republic and we went to Noumea, Mare and Island of Pines. It was pretty fun and relaxing, so here are a few photos from the trip.
In June I decided to do a lot of writing. I found a story I wrote almost two years ago and even though the writing was very bad, I thought the idea was still okay. So I re-wrote what I had written and continued on with the story.
