Hey everyone!

I was tagged by Brookie @Brookie Cowles to do the ‘Greek Gods Book Tag’. She has a very lovely blog, so check her out! This tag was created by Zuky @The Book Bum, who also has an amazing blog and posts every day! I love doing book tags so let’s get started.

Rules:

  • Pingback to me here so I can read all your posts!
  • You can use my graphics if ya like, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to
  • Tag as many people as you want, but please, share the love

ZEUS: King of the Gods – Your Favourite Books

These are my top 4 favourite books! I read It Ends with Us, Behind Closed Doors and I’ll Give You the Sun all in 2016, but read Twilight back in 2009. I didn’t really read much between 2011-2015, so unfortunately I missed out on quite a few years of building up a concrete list of favourites. I love these 4 so much though and definitely recommend them.

HERA: Queen of the Gods – A Badass Female Character

The main character in Vampire Academy, Rose, is very badass. She fights a lot of vampires so that qualifies as being pretty badass. I read a lot of contemporary so I don’t really see many strong female characters, but I think Rose is very badass.

JANUS: God of Beginnings – Your Favourite Debut(s)

There are so many amazing debuts, but here are a few that I loved.

ATHENA: Goddess of Wisdom – Your Favourite Non-Fiction Book

I love reading autobiographies occasionally and this one so far has to be my favourite! I loved Amy Poehler and found this book to be a mix of funny stories and deep life lessons. She talked a bit about my all-time favourite television show, Parks and Recreation, so how can this book not be my favourite non-fiction book?

APHRODITE: Goddess of Love – A Book You Adore and Recommend Everyone Read (other than your favourite book)

There are heaps books that I adore that are not my favourite book, but I have chosen Big Little Lies because I haven’t mentioned it on my blog before. I only recently read it and thought it was a fantastic contemporary fiction book. The relationship between the three women is very unique and everything connects in a well thought-out way! If you have ever been intrigued with a Liane Moriarty book, I would definitely start with this one.

HADES: God of the Underworld – An Evil Book You Wish Didn’t Exist

This is such a hard prompt! I don’t want to offend anyone. There are a few books that I have read that I wish never existed because they were so hard to read. I will choose a book that I had to study in school. It is called The Adoration of Jenna Fox and I really hated it. Nothing about it made any sense to me and I remember not even understanding the ending. I was 14 when I had to read it.

POSEIDON: God of the Sea and Earthquakes – A Beautiful and Groundbreaking Book

Screen Shot 2017-03-26 at 6.51.33 pm

I have chosen Jasper Jones because my teacher spoke about it in class last week and I was reminded by how great it is. It touches on to the issues of racism present in Australia and is somewhat similar to the book To Kill A Mockingbird. It is a lot easier to read than To Kill A Mockingbird (not that I’ve read it) because it is told in the perspective of a young boy.

APOLLO: God of the Arts – A Beautiful Book Cover

Colleen Hoover is amazing at getting beautiful cover art on her book covers. I love the mixture of colours on the Confess book cover, it is so pretty!

HYPNOS: God of Sleep – A Book So Boring You Almost Fall Asleep

Screen Shot 2017-05-03 at 4.00.25 pm

About Grace by Anthony Doerr is by far the most boring book I have ever read. Somehow I got through it, but I really had to force myself to read it. I did not even know what the plot was for most of the book, and it stressed me out that so much time passes. It is the same author that wrote All The Light We Cannot See, a book that everyone loves, but something I won’t read anytime soon because I had to endure this one.

HERMES: Messenger of the Gods – A Book You Sped Through

Screen Shot 2017-03-26 at 7.37.05 pm

Besides my favourite books, I sped through November 9 very quickly. It is a page-turner and grabs your attention, especially if you like romance books.

If you want to do this tag then please do, I would love to read your answers!

Thanks for reading,

  1. Thangs for doing my tag! I love Amy Poehler too but I haven’t read that book. I tend to stay away from celeb autobiographies for some reason, even if I love the celeb! But I might add that to my tbr 😋
